Hello, my name is Joan!
I started my love for horses when I was a very young child, then as a teenager, I got my first horse and started in 4-H. As a new rider, I learned all the basics and my love and knowledge grew into college academics.
I went to LCCC and earned my Associate Degree in Equine Studies, followed by my Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where I was on the horse judging team plus a teacher’s assistant. I then attended grad school at West Texas A&M University where I earned my Master’s degree in Equine Nutrition.
After grad school, I continued to give riding lessons and judging horse shows in Ohio, Kentucky, Texas, Nebraska, and now in Colorado. I am a Horse 4-H Leader and enjoy passing on my knowledge of riding and horse show judging to young minds.
